After being absent from honoring musicians in 2008, Soul Train Music Awards comes back this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Motown Records

2009 Soul Train Music Awards will be hosted by Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. The event will be taped on November 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta and will be televised on both CENTRIC and BET in a special simulcast on November 29 at 9 P.M.
After being absent from honoring musicians in 2008, Soul Train Music Awards comes back this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Motown Records. Nominations for the upcoming event have been announced, revealing that Beyonce Knowles, Maxwell and Keri Hilson lead the pack with four nods each.

The three of them compete against each other in Song of the Year and Record of the Year. In addition, both Beyonce and Maxwell are also up for Album of the Year. Beyonce and Maxwell get their fourth kudos in Best Female and Male R&B/Soul Artist respectively. As for Keri, she receives her two other nominations in Best New Artist and Best Collaboration.

Other artists who are listed as nominees at the show include Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Robin Thicke and Whitney Houston. A special honoree for Entertainer of the Year will be given to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Frederick Richardson, the suspect accused of murdering Kandi Burruss’s ex-fiance AJ Jewell, appeared in an Atlanta courtroom earlier today on voluntary manslaughter charges and was denied bond. According to Columbus Urban Life, Richardson’s attorney attempted to get the charges of manslaughter dismissed however the judge in the case denied the request. His attorney argued that “the medical examiner has not officially determined a cause of death to support the manslaughter charge” and that AJ could have died from a health problem. His attorney also claims that AJ Jewell pulled a gun on Frederick and delivered the first blow.
What was not reported anywhere else is the fact that AJ didn’t want Fredrick Richardson to work in the club since he assumed ownership and it had nothing to do with him being romantically involved with original club owner Veronica M. Jones according to our sources. Aj was very much in love with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burress and having a romantic relationship with Ms. Jones was far fetch according to our sources. In fact, AJ really didn’t want Veronica Jones around The Body Tap Strip Club but went along with it because she held the liquor license to the club stated our well placed source.

Ms. Jones was not a stranger to controversy when back in 2006 her liquor license was suspended for 15 days by the City of Atlanta License Review Board citing that the establishment permitted the solicitation of prostitution and Public indecency. Brown will wear a reflective orange vest and pick up trash and litter along highways and roads. He’ll also have to trim brush along medians, remove gang graffiti from the VCU campus, and wash the inside and outside of law enforcement vehicles. Richmond City Councilman Doug Conner says Brown will be kept “under the watchful eye of a supervisor” to make sure he doesn’t cut any corners.

Benny Gold is primarily known around the skateboard and fixed gear industry for his numerous graphic design works, also he has completed various high profile projects with HUF and Nike to name but a few. He has also started to make his own line as a side project and has come a long way since its first inception. Here we look at the second version of Doughboy fitted cap which should be in stores real soon.
As with the first version of the Doughboy, it takes an inspiration from Ice Cube’s character Doughboy in the classic film Boyz N The Hood. This version sports the same BG logo on the front and the trademark paperplane checks on the under brim. Available in three colorways of grey/navy, navy/white and green/yellow.

A few dayzz ago "Fantasia" had 2 b rushed to an hospital where she was diagnosed with food poisoning an extreme dehydration.....

Fantasia pulled a no-show for her scheduled performance as Celie in The Color Purple on Saturday.

Fantasia’s manager Brian Dickens told S2S that she was actually dressed to go on stage and had on microphone when she fell ill. Brian told us that Fantasia began staggering around backstage because she felt like the room was spinining. When she announced that was feeling sick, Brian told her to sit down. She began throwing up uncontrollably shortly after that. About 15 minutes before the show it was clear that she was in no state to go on stage, so the production company had to call in the understudy.

Fantasia was then rushed to an area hospital where she was diagnosed with food poisoning an extreme dehydration. Doctors said the illness may have been caused by a turkey and cheese sandwich that Fantasia ate on the way to the theater.

’Tasia was really upset about having to back out of the performance, and had even tried to make it for the evening show, but she was advised to just Saturday out. They said she was just to fragile to push herself and that if she did it would effect her ability to perform on Sunday. Thankfully, she listened to the pros and took a sick day, so she was ready to return to the stage the very next day.

Max B Gets Sentenced to 75 Years!

Harlem, New York rapper Max B. was sentenced to 75 years in prison September 3 for his role in a botched robbery that led to a double murder in a Fort Lee, New Jersey hotel. Max B., born Charly Wingate, appeared in a Hackensack, New Jersey court today with co-defendant Kevin Leerdam. Max B. and Leerdam were convicted on charges of felony murder, kidnapping and armed robbery for planning and robbing Allan Plowden and David Taylor at a Holiday Inn in September of 2006. Taylor was shot and killed during the robbery, which was planned with Max B.’s ex-girl friend Gina Conway, who testified against the pair during their June trial. Max B. was not happy with the situation and fired his attorney Gerald Saluti, just before the 75-year sentenced was handed down. Leerdam received a life sentence, plus 35 years for his role in the murder, while Conway is facing an 18-year sentence.
